Ferrari F12 Berlinetta

The next Hot Wheels is Ferrari F12 Berlinetta.  I have two of it: silver and yellow.  They are part of 2014 HW City - Speed Team.

The F12 Berlinetta made the debut at Hot Wheels as 2013 HW Showroom - All Stars New Model.

Origin

Berlinetta (from Italian) is an especially sporty form of coupé. Typically a two-seater, the type may include 2+2s.  The original meaning for berlinetta in Italian is “little saloon”.

Introduced in the 1930s, the term was popularized by Ferrari in the 1950s. Maserati, Opel, Alfa Romeo, and other European car manufacturers have also used the Berlinetta label.

In North America, Chevrolet also produced a version of the Chevrolet Camaro called the Berlinetta, from 1979 to 1986. The model offered European styling touches to emphasize the interior rather than the performance of the car, which had long been the main selling point of the Camaro.

Real Life

The Ferrari F12berlinetta (also unofficially referred to as the F12 Berlinetta or the F12) is a front mid-engine, rear-wheel-drive grand tourer produced by Italian sports car manufacturer Ferrari. The F12berlinetta, debuted at the 2012 Geneva Motor Show, replaces the 599 series grand tourers.  The naturally aspirated 6.3 litre Ferrari V12 engine in the F12berlinetta has won the International Engine of the Year Awards 2013 in the Best Performance category and Best Engine above 4.0 litres. The F12berlinetta was named "The Supercar of the Year 2012" by car magazine Top Gear.
In 2014, it was awarded the XXIII Premio Compasso d'oro ADI. Accepting the award was Ferrari’s Senior Vice President of Design, Flavio Manzoni.
