(Another) VW Drag Bus

Now, it's the second Drag Bus of mine.  It's an orange VW Drag Bus.  I bought it online, informed by my friend.

WARNING, having VW Drag Bus could be so addicted. :p

VW Drag Bus (1st Drag Bus)

In the end of this year, i show you some special collection of mine.  It's a green chrome VW Drag Bus.  I bought it in loose condition.  But, it's OK, because it's my first Drag Bus. :)

The Volkswagen Drag Bus is one of the hottest surprise castings to ever come out of Mattel's factory, and made the debut as 1996 HW First Editions. Whether you love it or hate it, it turned into a collectors #1 favorite. The Volkswagen Drag Bus designed by Phil Riehlman has his initials, P R, cast into the bottom of the rear differential. This casting when released was the heaviest casting Mattel made, and the most popular. You can see the picture of the First HW Drag Bus below.
I thought that i never found pics of it in the real world, but i'm wrong. :)

1971 Buick Riviera

1971 Buick Riviera, i took another classic car.   It is based on the actual General Motors production vehicle.  It debuted as HW 2005 First Editions Realistix.

Mine is a part of 2015 HW City - Performance.  It has green painted body, with a "Mr.Gasket Co." tampo at side.

Origins

The name Riviera, Latin for coastline, was chosen to evoke the allure and affluence of the French Riviera. It first entered the Buick line in 1949, as the designation for the new two-door pillarless hardtop, described in advertising as "stunningly smart". The Buick Roadmaster Riviera coupe (along with the Cadillac Coupe de Ville and Oldsmobile 98 Holiday coupe) constituted the first mass production use of this body style, which was to become extremely popular over the next 30 years. Buick added a two-door Riviera hardtop to the Super the following year, the Special in 1951 and the Century upon its return, after a 12-year absence, in 1954.

Real Life

The Buick Riviera is a personal luxury car produced by Buick from 1963 to 1999. The Riviera name has been given to concept cars displayed at auto shows in 2007 and 2013 in hopes of resurrecting the brand, but no plans to do so are currently in place.  GM's first entry into that prestige niche, the Riviera was highly praised by automotive journalists upon its high-profile debut. While early models stayed close to the original form, subsequent generations varied substantially over the Riviera's thirty-year lifespan. In all, 1,127,261 were produced.
The Riviera was radically redesigned for the 1971 model year with flowing and dramatic "boat-tail" styling.  Designed under Bill Mitchell's direction, it was penned by Jerry Hirshberg, future head of design for Nissan, mating the two-piece vee-butted fastback rear window, inspired by the 1963 Corvette Sting Ray split window coupe, to the Riviera's platform.
The 455 engine had a lower compression ratio to meet EPA emissions requirements, reducing power to 255 hp (190 kW), with 265 hp (198 kW) in the Gran Sport. Performance remained reasonably brisk, with a 0–60 time of 8.1 seconds for the GS, but the Riviera's sporty image was rapidly fading.

In The Movie

It looks like 1971 Buick Riviera is a movie star. :)

'70 Buick GSX

Next, it's another classic muscle car.  It's a '70 Buick GSX.  I can't resist this beauty beast.  :D

The '70 Buick GSX debuted in the 2009 New Models, by designer : Jun Imai.

Real Life.

The Gran Sport name has been used on several high-performance muscle cars built by Buick. As Buick was the luxury brand one level below Cadillac, which did not have performance models, Buick GS branded models were the most opulently equipped models from GM during this era.

GSX / GSX Stage1 was Buick's contribution to the Classic era American Muscle car list, based on the Skylark platform adding a high performance package available only on the GS 455 starting in 1970.   The GSX was Buick's very late entry into the Muscle Car market following less than spectacular sales late in the 1969 model year. The GSX was Buick's answer to Pontiac's GTO Judge, Oldsmobile's 4-4-2 W-30, and Plymouth's HemiCuda. Buick advertised it as "A Brand New Brand Of Buick" and "Another 'Light Your Fire' Car From Buick".
It came standard with a 455ci engine with or without the optional Stage 1 performance emgine upgrades during the first year of release.  Only 678 GSXs were produced in the second half of the 1970 model year beginning in March 1970. Just 278 were equipped with the standard 455, a further 400 purchasers selected the optional Stage 1 performance package. The performance of a GSX (or GS) Stage-1 is comparable to and possibly surpasses that of the HemiCuda, but in a much more luxurious car. The impressive performance is partly due to the light weight of the 455 which is roughly 150 lb (68 kg) less than the 426 Hemi or Chevrolet 454. At 510 lb-ft the Buick 455 produced the highest torque output of any American production performance car, a record held for 33 years until finally surpassed by the Series 2 V10 Viper in 2003. The 1970 Buick GSX has arguably the most extensive list of standard high performance features of any classic era muscle car.
In 1970, the GSX option was available in only two colors, Saturn Yellow and Apollo White (in 1971 and 1972 6 other colors were available for the GSX). Came with only full black interior. All GSXs had the distinctive full body length black stripe that crossed over the standard equipment rear spoiler and was outlined in red pin stripes. A large area of the hood was also black with a hood mounted tachometer (Buick engineers disliked the hood tachometer because it was a Pontiac part) and black front spoiler. Also standard equipment were black bucket seats, floor shifter, wide oval tires, quick ratio steering and anti-sway bars front and rear and quad-link suspension attached to a limited-slip rear differential . Some other options were automatic transmission or four speed manual, A/C or Non-A/C.

In The Movie

So far, 70 Buick GSX was used in the
Transformers:Dark of The Moon (2011): http://www.imdb.com/title/tt1399103/

Fast Fish

Long time no write this blog.  :p
Now, it's the time for a fantasy car. It's Fast Fish.  I took it at a dept store, just because the gold accent on red painted body. :)

Fast Fish is a Hot Wheels contemporary muscle car casting designed by Fraser Campbell that debuted in the 2008 New Models.
It was inspired by the 1970 Plymouth Barracuda, although the styling of the car is definitely 21st-century. This Hot Wheels version of a contemporary muscle car comes equipped with quad exhaust and a transparent hood bulge to show off the brute force of its 8-cylinder engine and let you know it's fast and fierce. The spoilers around the car, top and bottom, as well as the styling of headlights and other features give an impression of an American muscle-car take on laser precision, like a Lamborghini Veneno's various features.
Since it's a fantasy car, there is no real car version of it.
