Scion FR-S

Now, it's the time for talking about a car from Japan, It's Scion FR-S.  It has made the debut at Hot Wheels as a member of 2013 HW Showroom Garage, in Metallic Red color.  Mine, a Metallic Silver one, is a part of 2014 HW Workshop.

Origin & Real Life

Scion FR-S is also called Toyota 86, and Subaru BRZ.  The 86 is a series of grand tourer sports coupés jointly developed by Toyota and Subaru and solely manufactured by the latter. It features a boxer engine, front-engine, rear-wheel-drive layout and 2+2 seating.  It is sold under three different names:
  1. Toyota 86 in Asia, South Africa, South America and Australia, GT86 in Europe; both of the preceding names in New Zealand; FT86 in Jamaica;
  2. Subaru BRZ worldwide;
  3. Scion FR-S in the US and Canada.

The development code of this vehicle is 086A and its main production names 86 (pronounced "eight-six" or Hachi-Roku (ハチロク) in Japanese, but more commonly pronounced as "eighty-six") or GT86, leverage historic Toyota front engined and rear-wheel drive sports coupés and hatchbacks, in the form of:
  • the 1967 2000GT (Japan's seminal coupé whose design cues adorn the 86 and which was also powered by a a 2.0 litre engine); and
  • the 1983 to 1987 AE86 range (renowned for its handling and drifting prowess).

The Scion FR-S is exclusive to the United States and Canada. Its name is derived from a description of the platform: Front-engine, Rear-wheel drive, Sport.  Unlike all other 86 variants, the FR-S originally had no trim levels and are all offered with Scion's BeSpoke stereo system. Later, Scion also released a "Monogram Edition" (with features similar to the BRZ Limited) and the 1.0 Release series.
In 2013, to celebrate its 10th anniversary Scion released the "Scion 10 Series" across its 2014 model year (MY14) range of vehicles, under the marketing banner of "Sc10n". This included 2500 FR-S models exclusively painted in Silver Ignition and fitted with extra equipment. With a US$2,630 premium, it featured HID headlights, automatic climate control, push button start, illuminated exterior badges plus shifter knob.

Lamborghini Aventador J

And now, we talk about another Italian Hot Wheels Car.  It's Lamborghini Aventador J.  I have two color of them : blue and yellow.  They are part of 2014 HW Workshop.  I've got them in a little toy store.

Aventador J made the debut as a part of 2013 HW Showroom - All Stars.  The first edition has come in metalflake dark red.

Origin

Aventador is a spanish word, which means: fan.
Definition of aventador in Spanish:
  1. Que avienta los granos. =>
    Fanning grains
=> Agricultural implement comprising a long handle with a stick timber perpendicular centered in one end coming out of four or more parallel-tooth tips; It is used to throw and move cut straw or cereal. Synonym: I fork.
  3. Instrumento para aventar el fuego que consiste en un ruedo pequeño, generalmente de esparto, con un mango. Sinónimo: soplillo. =>
Instrument for fanning the fire that consists of a small ring, usually of straw, with a handle. Synonym: protruding.
But, This is how aventador got its name. :)
I'm kidding. :D
In Lamborghini tradition, the Aventador is also named after a fighting bull.  Aventador is the name of a specimen, raised in the stables of Celestino Quadri Vides, which in 1993 made furore in the arena of Zaragoza. Here, the animal receives the Trofeo de la Pena La Madronera for incredible courage demonstrate over the violent and bloody confrontation. The name chosen by the Italian officials honors Feruccio Lamborghini, who decided that his astrological sign to become a philosophy for the car brand.

Real Life

Lamborghini Aventador J is the roadster version of the Lamborghini Aventador. Powered by a rear engined V12, this car has no windows and roofs. It also has it's radio and air conditioning system removed to save the weight of the car. First introduced on the 2012 Geneva Motor Show, this car is considered as one of the rarest cars.

The roofless and windowless concept car uses the same V12 engine as the standard Aventador, producing 700 hp through a lightweight seven-speed automated transmission. The car does not have air conditioning or radio to save further weight for a total of 3,472 pounds (1,575 kg).  The car presented at the Geneva show was the only unit to be produced, and was sold for US$2.8 million. Another Limited Edition model was made for Shaikh Al Yahyaa and was sold at an unknown price.

The J designation was thought to have come from Appendix J in the FIA rulebook that describes the technical specifications of race cars. However, during an interview with designer Filippo Perini, it was revealed that the 'J' actually stands for Jota, in reference to a 1970s one off Lamborghini Miura Jota, which also conformed to the FIA's Appendix J regulations.

In The Movie

There is no information yet about Lamborghini Aventador J being used in a movie.
But, when we talk about The Aventador, it has made 2 appearance:
1.  The Dark Knight Rises
2. Transformer 4

Lamborghini Sesto Elemento

This time, i wanna show you an outstanding Hot Wheels: Lamborghini Sesto Elemento.  It's a part of 2014 HW City - Speed Team, which is also its debut year at Hot Wheels.  I have 2 version of it, which are incredibly beautiful in satin grey & white color.  How lucky i am to have them.  :D

The Lamborghini Sesto Elemento ("Sixth Element" in English) is a two-door, two-seater, V10 high-performance lightweight limited edition car produced by Italian automaker Lamborghini, which debuted at the 2010 Paris Motor Show. The Sesto Elemento's name is a reference to the atomic number of carbon, in recognition of the car's extensive use of carbon fibre.
The Sesto Elemento is equipped with a 6-speed semi-automatic transmission with paddle shift and all wheel drive system, mated to a 5.2 litre V10 engine borrowed from the Gallardo, generating 578 PS (425 kW; 570 hp) and 540 N·m (400 lbf·ft) of torque. The chassis, body, drive shaft and suspension components are made of carbon fiber, reducing the overall weight to a mere 999 kilograms (2,202 lb), a weight comparable to subcompact cars such as a Honda Fit. It is the lightest car Lamborghini has ever produced.

Air is released through 10 distinctive hexagonal holes in the engine cover, while two intakes funnel cool air into the mid-mounted engine compartment. The Sesto Elemento's high power combined with low overall weight translate to a power-to-weight ratio of 0.57 hp/kg (0.26 hp/lb) (with a weight-to-power ratio of 1.75 kg/hp and 3.85 lb/hp). Lamborghini claims a 0–100 km/h (0–62 mph) acceleration time of just 2.5 seconds.

It looks like a monster!!! :D

Honda S2000

The next Hot Wheels is a Honda S2000.   I bought it at a toy store last month.  It's a part of 2013 Hot Wheels.  It made the debut at Hot Wheels as 2011 New Models, by Designer : Ryu Asada.
The Honda S2000 is a roadster that was manufactured by Japanese automaker Honda between 1999 and 2009. First shown as a concept car at the Tokyo Motor Show in 1995, the production version was launched in April 1999 to celebrate the company's 50th anniversary. The S2000 is named for its engine displacement of 2 liters, carrying on in the tradition of the S500, S600, and S800 roadsters of the 1960s.
It has the stuff sports-car fantasies are made of: a front-engine, rear-drive layout; a six-speed, close-ratio manual transmission; an unequal-length control-arm suspension all around; disc brakes; and supportive, firm bucket seats—in a package that weighs less than 2800 pounds. The S2000’s crown jewel, however, is a 2.0-liter naturally aspirated four-cylinder engine pumping out an incredible 240 horsepower at 8300 rpm and revving to an 8900-rpm redline.

Only four volume-production roadsters on sale in the U.S. can top the featherweight S2000's power-to-weight ratio: the Chevy Corvette, the Dodge Viper RT/10, the Ferrari F355 spider, and the Plymouth Prowler. Best news of all is the expected price: $30,000, or 10 to 124 grand less than those esteemed rivals.
Only one current naturally aspirated production engine comes close to equaling the S2000's "revability"—the 3.6-liter, 8500-rpm-redlined V-8 from the $170,000 Ferrari 360 Modena.

Car & Driver TEST RESULTS:
Zero to 60 mph: 6.8 sec
Zero to 100 mph: 16.4 sec
Zero to 130 mph: 32.7 sec
Rolling start, 5-60 mph: 7.3 sec
Top gear, 30-50 mph: 10.3 sec
Top gear, 50-70 mph: 10.2 sec
Standing ¼-mile: 15.1 sec @ 96 mph
Top speed (drag limited): 146 mph
Braking, 70-0 mph: 159 ft

Ferrari 458 Italia

Now, it's time for another Ferrari: Ferrari 458 Italia.  This Hot Wheels made the debut at 2010 New Models by Designer : John Violette.  Mine is a part of 2014 HW City - Speed Team.
The Ferrari 458 is a mid-engined sports car produced by the Italian sports car manufacturer Ferrari. The 458 replaced the Ferrari F430, and was first officially unveiled at the 2009 Frankfurt Motor Show.  It is now being replaced by the Ferrari 488 GTB, which was unveiled at the Geneva Motor Show 2015.

Specification:

The 458 is powered by a 4,499 cc (274.5 cu in) V8 engine of the "Ferrari/Maserati" F136 engine family, producing 570 PS (419 kW; 562 hp) at 9,000 rpm (redline) and 540 N·m (398 lb·ft) at 6,000 rpm with 80% torque available at 3,250 rpm.  The engine features direct fuel injection, which is a first for Ferrari mid-engine setups in its road cars.
Ferrari's official 0–100 km/h (62 mph) acceleration is 2.9-3.0 seconds, while top speed is 325 km/h (202 mph). It has fuel consumption in combined cycle (ECE+EUDC) of 13.3 L/100 km (21.2 mpg-imp; 17.7 mpg-US) while producing 307g/km of CO2.

The 458 Italia is the two-seat berlinetta 458. It was the first variant to be officially unveiled to the public, at the 2009 Frankfurt Motor Show on 15 September 2009.

Corvette Grand Sport Roadster (Fast & Furious)

The next Hot Wheels is also a Fast & Furious Series.  It's Corvette Grand Sport Roadster.  I found it at a little toy store not far from home.   Luckily, it's on discount price.  :)

Corvette Grand Sport Roadster made the debut at 2015 HW Race - Track Aces, by Designer: Brendon Vetuske.
From the back of the 2015-card:
Born: 1963
Birthplace: Detroit, MI, USA
Designer: General Motors
Specialty: One of only 5 like it, this hand-built version was made with thin layers of fiberglass on the body and aluminium underneath. As light as they become, it was made to race, and to win.

The Corvette® Grand Sport is built under license from General Motors Company. In late 1962 Chevrolet chief engineer Zora Arkus Duntov set out to build a production run of 125 purpose built Corvette racecars with the ultimate goal of winning the GT class at the 24 Hours of LeMans. Inside Duntov’s shop, the project was known as the LightWeight. As they neared completion, Chevrolet marketing christened the cars Grand Sports. After a pilot run of five cars, GM brass cancelled the project and ordered the cars destroyed.
Zora put away the first two cars, and sent serial #’s 003, 004 & 005 to John Mecom of Houston, Texas. John sold the three cars to Texans Alan Sevadjian, Delmo Johnson, and Jim Hall respectively.
In the last International race of his career, Delmo Johnson drove Alan’s GS #003 at Sebring in March of 1965. For that race, Duntov provided the race team with the first racing big block engine ever to leave the factory.

Several engines were used in the first five Grand Sports, perhaps the most famous being the all aluminum 377 cubic inch small block with Weber cross ram intake. A modern version of this original powerplant with 48mm Webers is available today for installation in the Corvette Grand Sport street roller. Seven other powerplants are available from our partners at GM Performance Parts for installation in any of our Grand Sports, ranging from the 350 HP ZZ4 iron small block to the all aluminum supercharged and fuel injected LS9.
Standard Equipment
  • A complete factory assembled rolling chassis.
  • Show quality PPG paint finishes with many standard colors.
  • Fully independent front and rear suspension.
  • Bilstein® coil over progressive shocks with H&R Springs®.
  • Four-wheel vented disc brakes, power assisted calipers.
  • Aluminum radiator/oil cooler
  • Rack and Pinion Power Steering

In the 'Fast Five' Movie: it's actually the Ford Shelby Cobra to thank for this crazy Corvette. If the car used in ‘Fast Five’ was real, its value would stretch into the millions of dollars. Just imagine its value when you watch the leaping out of a train scene. :D
